-------- Notes on installation/uninstallation --------

  - Make sure that the install path for TotalFlow BatchBuilder contains only
characters from the same code page as the operating system.

  - Account for installation
To install this application, you must have administrator privileges, which
means you must belong to the Administrators group.

  - Do not place any user data into the destination folder when you install this
application. When you cancel the installation or uninstall the application,
the user data may be removed.

  - If there is not enough temporary disk space on the hard disk where the
installer writes the files for the application, a part of the error message
displayed may be truncated. In this case, please select another hard disk or
    cancel the installation.

  - If the installation does not complete after 30 minutes or more, please
follow these steps to reinstall this application:
    (1) Go to the Windows Control panel and then open Component Services;
in the list of local services search for:
RICOH TotalFlow BatchBuilder - Apache Tomcat Web Server and
        RICOH TotalFlow BatchBuilder - Storage,
if any, make sure they are stopped.
    (2) Go to the Windows Control panel and open Add or Remove Programs to see
whether TotalFlow BatchBuilder exists in the program list. If you find
        it, uninstall TotalFlow BatchBuilder.
    (3) Remove all the files and folders already created in the install folder.
        The default folder is:

  - When you install this application, the anti-virus software may display a
warning message. In this case, please see the instructions provided by the
    anti-virus software vendor.

-------- Notes on input files --------

  - Do not use these characters in input file names. Otherwise,
the file may not be submitted as a job or the job name may not be displayed.
    <Invalid characters>
    ${ ` ~ ! = ; '

-------- Notes on File Viewer --------

  - You can use the File Viewer tools by opening a job from the Job Preview,
by right-clicking on a job and selecting View File , or by selecting
View Imposed File with imposed files.
  - When using the File Viewer in order to display a job file or an imposed file,
additional storage space may be required - that may vary based on the number
of pages displayed and on the displayed file. The additional used storage
space is freed up when the job is deleted, when the job file is changed or
    the job is reimposed.

-------- Retention of imposed files ---
  - In order to configure the retention of imposed files, the
conf.properties file contains a parameter named discardImposedFile that
    accepts the following values:

false - to turn the feature on; this is the default value
true - to turn the feature off

  - By setting the parameter to true, the application removes the imposed files
as soon as the batch is sent. If the parameter is missing completely from the
conf.properties file or is set to false, the imposed files are kept until
the job is deleted or reimposed.
  - When the retention of the imposed files is on, additional storage space may
be required, depending on the number of jobs, job files,
imposition frequency, imposition settings, and job retention period.

-------- Job Preview Thumbnail -------

  - In order to configure the generation of the job preview thumbnail, the
conf.properties file contains a parameter named thumbnail.method that
    accepts the following values:

OFF - to turn the feature off
WHEN_RECEIVED - to have the thumbnails generated when jobs enter
into the system; this is the default value
WHEN_SELECTED - to have the thumbnail generated when jobs are selected for
the first time in the user interface

  - When the job preview thumbnail is generated, additional storage space may be
required - that may vary depending on the job file. The additional used
storage space is freed up when the job is deleted or when the job file is
    changed.

-------- Avoid database corruption if low disk space occurs -------
   - All input and output sources are automatically disabled if the disk space is below 5 GB.
The default value is 5 GB. You can change this value in the conf.properties file:
     lowDiskSpaceThreshold=5

-------- Log out users after 30 minutes of inactivity -------
   - Users are automatically logged out after 30 minutes of inactivity. This feature prevents
unauthorized access if the user leaves their session unattended. To avoid being
automatically logged out, check the "Remember me" box when logging in. If you need to change
the default value, you can change this parameter value in the conf.properties file:
     sessionExpirationMinutes=30

-------- Lock out users after three failed attempts -------
   - Prevents unauthorized access by locking out users after three consecutive failed login attempts.
The default lockout duration and attempts number can be configured in the conf.properties file.
     temporaryUserLockMinutes=5
     numberOfFailedLoginAttempts=3

-------- Disable filters automation if an output device has errors -------
    - If an output associated with an automated filter or a filter component
is disabled, the filter automation is also disabled and requires to enable it again
      manually.

-------- Other notes -----------------

  - To set a preferred language for the system generated PDF batch ticket file,
    you must:
    (1) Go to the Admin section.
    (2) In the File Naming window, under Language, select the language from the
        drop-down list.
The system uses the selected language to apply the localization and
generate the PDF batch ticket file.
  - Make sure the DNS name configured on the machine where TotalFlow
BatchBuilder is installed, contains only these ASCII characters:
        English lower case characters a-z
        English upper case characters A-Z
        Numbers 0-9
        Hyphen-minus character -
  - The job "plex" attribute has the following new allowed values:
        BE_LEFT
        BE_TOP
        BE_RIGHT
        BE_BOTTOM
This new attribute is not compatible with older versions of TotalFlow
    BatchBuilder.

-------- Limitations -----------------

- If you want to use secure HTTP connections, you have to provide and configure
your own secure certificates to the Apache Tomcat 7 web server for covering
  the HTTPS aspects.
- The maximum amount of jobs retained within the system is currently
approximately 30000. If you exceed this value, the system might experience
delays in displaying information. Adjust the retention time properly for
  batches and orders.
- When sending a batch for printing to an InfoPrint 5000 printer model, the
maximum number of copies printed is limited to 32768.
- When the incoming PDF files are encrypted, TotalFlow BatchBuilder cannot
determine the correct number of pages or the document page size. For a correct
estimation, send the PDF files without any encryption set or adjust the values
manually using the edit job function.
