The guide is provided in PDF format. To open it, open the file in a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader. InfoPrint Productivity Tracker Information Center The Information Center is installed with the product. When you are using InfoPrint Productivity Tracker and you click the Help link on the browser page, the Information Center opens in a new window. Additionally, the Information Center is provided (in English) in PDF format on the CD. The PDF version does not provide topic linking, and formatting is not optimized for viewing as a PDF document; it is not intended to be your primary source of information about InfoPrint Productivity Tracker. NOTE: For the most recent version of the documentation, visit the Ricoh Production Print Information Center at http://info.rpp.ricoh-usa.com/help/index.jsp. 3.0 ACCESSING THE INSTALLER To start the InfoPrint Productivity Tracker installer on the CD: 1. Insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive. If the Windows system is configured to autorun CDs, the installer starts automatically. 2. If the installer does not start automatically, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the setup.exe file on the CD-ROM, and double-click it. The CD installs Productivity Tracker (PT) for systems without PT version 2.1.x already installed. If PT version 2.1.x is already installed, the installer provides the option to update your current PT installation. 3. Follow prompts to update InfoPrint Productivity Tracker. 4.0 TIPS AND USAGE NOTES The following tips might be useful as you begin using InfoPrint Productivity Tracker. 1. Follow the recommended order of configuration tasks. Read the Configuration chapter of the documentation and follow the recommended task order. For example, you must create work shifts before adding and polling print systems; otherwise the polled data will not be assigned to a shift. Also, you should poll print systems before trying to edit page profile (snapshot) information. You cannot *add* page profiles using Productivity Tracker, Productivity Tracker obtains them from the print systems on your network. 2. Restart the print system before adding it to the Productivity Tracker system. Restarting the print system prior to polling it for the first time ensures that Productivity Tracker can obtain the print system's configuration and start-up parameters. Without a restart event in the log, print system data might not be available for reports. 5.0 KNOWN ISSUES These are known issues with InfoPrint Productivity Tracker. Upgrade requirements InfoPrint Productivity Tracker must be at at least version 2.1.x in order to upgrade to the current version. Create a complete backup of the Productivity Tracker v.2.1.x database prior to or during installation. Backup the entire commdata folder from the Productivity Tracker install location. Ensure there is enough hard drive space left on the computer. If not, perform a disk clean-up. This is required for upgrading the database to the latest version. An InfoPrint Productivity Tracker version 1.x database will not migrate to the current version. Customers still using Productivity Tracker PRPQ version of the code need to migrate to Productivity Tracker v.2.1 first. The current release drops support for migrating Productivity Tracker PRPQ data. Sort function limitations Using the sort function (clicking on the column heading within the Enterprise Setup Print Centers, Print Systems, Page Profiles and Operators) will only sort twice after the initial page is displayed in Microsoft Internet Explorer. This function is inoperable on subsequent attempts without a page refresh (F5). Also, the column sorting function is currently not supported in Mozilla and Firefox web browsers. Browser bookmarks to specific pages do not function If the user has previously logged out or the session has expired, bookmarks to specific pages within Productivity Tracker do not go to the specific bookmarked page, but to the Main page. Print Volume Report shows negative numbers in some cases Due to a microcode problem, when reporting print volume on a print system that is running in dual simplex mode, in some cases Productivity Tracker reports negative values for the number of feet printed. The associated job events report shows positive values for the individual printing events but shows a negative value in the job size field. Contact your hardware support representative for a microcode update. Date range for some reports must include "tomorrow" to include today's results If you are viewing a custom report by selecting a range of days, you must select tomorrow as the "To" date in order to see today's events. This restriction also exists for the Intervention report when using "Other" and a date range. After controller operating system update, print counter must be restored to prevent report errors If you do a controller operating system update (BOS update) on a print system that is monitored by Productivity Tracker, you must restore the print counter on the print system monitor to the same value it had before the operating system update. Otherwise, the "feet printed" values in Productivity Tracker reports will be wrong. We recommend that you restore the print counter by saving the printer configuration before the update and restoring it after the update. If required, you can manually restore the print counter using the service login. Jobs involving a change in cutsheet emulation status are reported as separate jobs Due to the way PSF currently handles cutsheet emulation, a single job's information might be reported as separate jobs. If cutsheet emulation is turned on or off during a job, the previously shown job name is replaced with or . Print Volume reports show the original job on a different row from the or job. You see job information for both, but the report does not show that the two jobs are connected. 6.0 NOTICES AND TRADEMARKS 6.1 Notices This information was developed for products and services offered in the U.S.A.
