Color Charts

Use the Color Charts page to add, edit, delete, or print color charts. You can also refresh the list of color charts to see the changes if several users are editing this page simultaneously.

To access the Color Charts page, go to the Configuration page and select Manage Color Charts. On the Color Charts page, you can add a color chart, and edit, delete, or print an existing chart. You can also refresh, sort, and filter the list of color charts.

  • If the Color Charts section on the Configuration page is disabled, add at least one printer and one paper first. For more information, see Paper Catalog and Using the Configuration Page.
  • You can create multiple color charts using the same printer and paper.

Adding a Color Chart

On the Add Color Chart page, select the printer and paper you are using with that chart, and a few other settings related to the new chart.

Printer
Specifies the printer for which you are going to use the color chart. This field contains the list of printers defined on the Printers page. If the printer whose color output you want to measure is not in the list, go to the Printers page and add your printer first. Then, select it from the list. Paper
Specifies the paper on which you are going to print the color chart. This field contains the list of papers defined on the Paper Catalog page. If the paper you want to use is not in the list, go to the Paper Catalog page and add that paper. Then, select the paper that you want to use for measuring the output colors of your printer. For details about adding a paper, see Paper Catalog.
ICC Profile Name
Specifies the name of the ICC profile that you can generate with the Quick Color Adjustment function, without including the ICC file type extension. Do not use the following characters in the ICC file name: < > : " / \ | ? * ¥ ₩

This is a required field.

The name of the ICC profile must be unique and must be no more than 64 characters in length. Simultaneously, the ICC file name must comply with the maximum length and all other file name restrictions imposed by your printer. For details, check the user documentation of your printer.

Color Verification
Specifies the color verification standard to use with the color chart. For details, see Color Verification.
Color Space
Specifies the color space to use with the color chart. For details, see Color Space.
Trim Box
Specifies whether to use the trim box for the color chart. The trim box helps you define the size of the finished sheet. If the trim box is enabled, the finished size matches the trim box.
  • Off (default): Do not include a trim box on the color chart.
  • On: Include a trim box on the color chart. Use this option to print the color chart on a paper size larger than the PDF page size, using imposition.
ICC Profile Settings
Specifies the settings of the ICC profile.

To configure the settings related to color separation in profile conversion and select the ICC profile size, expand the ICC Profile Settings section. For details, see ICC Profile Settings.

Hot Folders for Printing Color Charts
Specifies the hot folders used for sending the color profiling chart and the color verification chart to print. Once a file reaches the specified hot folder, that file is automatically queued for printing on the associated printer provided that this job action is configured for the hot folder.
To select the hot folders for the color profiling chart and the color verification chart, expand the Hot Folders for Printing Color Charts section.
In the Profiling Chart Path field, select the hot folder path for printing the color profiling chart.
In the Verification Chart Path field, select the hot folder path for printing the color verification chart.
Customize Color Adjustment Limits
Specifies the color deviation values used for the color chart.

To set individual color deviation values for each chart, use the toggle control next to Customize Color Adjustment Limits. For details, see Customizing Color Adjustment Limits.

After adding a color chart, the information related to that chart is displayed in the columns on the Color Charts page. For details, see Color Charts Page.

Editing a Color Chart

Use the Edit Color Chart page to edit details related to an existing color chart. For details about the values you can enter in the fields, see the Adding a Color Chart section.

You cannot edit a color chart while it is being sent to a hot folder for printing.

    Note:
  • Once you save a color chart after adding or editing it, the application generates the corresponding PDF of the color profiling and color verification chart.
  • The language selected in the desktop application determines the language of the color chart text.

Deleting a Color Chart

Use the DeleteDelete button button to delete one or more color charts.

Printing a Color Chart

Use the Print Color Profiling ChartPrint Color Profiling Chart button to send a color profiling chart to print.

Use the Print Color Verification ChartPrint Color Verification Chart button to send a color verification chart to print.

Alternatively, expand the row containing the color chart to access the Print buttons for the color profiling chart and the color verification chart. Select the appropriate button to send each chart to the printer.

    Use the toggle control next to Customize Color Adjustment Limits to select individual color deviation values for a color chart.

    This section describes each column displayed on the Color Charts page and the additional information revealed when you expand a color chart row. You can view the Color Charts table only after at least one color chart has been created.
  3. Color Verification
    The Color Verification field is displayed on the Add Color Chart and Edit Color Chart pages. Use this field to select the color verification standard used for providing CMYK source colors and determining the color deviation.
  4. Color Space
    Use this field on the Add Color Chart and Edit Color Chart pages to select the color space for color verification whenever you create or edit a color chart.
  5. ICC Profile Settings
    Use this section to configure the settings related to color separation in profile conversion and the size of the ICC profile.
  6. Printing Color Profiling Charts
    You can send the color profiling charts to print either from the web application, if the hot folder is enabled, or directly from the printer.
  7. Printing Color Verification Charts
    You can send the color verification charts to print either from the web application, if the hot folder is enabled, or directly from the printer.
