Color Space

Use this field on the Add Color Chart and Edit Color Chart pages to select the color space for color verification whenever you create or edit a color chart.

The list contains the color spaces for color verification. The values in the Color Space list change based on the selected Color Verification. You can select a predefined color space for verification or a custom color space created while using the Colorimetry function. For details about creating a custom color space, see Colorimetry Dialog.

If the selected Color Verification is Japan Color Digital or Japan Color Digital + Gray, select either your custom Color Space or a value from this list:

Standard
Verify colors based on the color standard selected in the Color Verification list.
Japan Color Coated 2011 (default)
Offset printing on gloss or matte coated commercial substrate.

If the selected Color Verification is ISO 12647-8 Coated V3 or ISO 12647-8:2021 Coated V3, select either your custom Color Space or a value from this list:

Standard
Verify colors based on the color standard selected in the Color Verification list.
FOGRA39
Offset printing on gloss or matte coated art substrate and tone value increase curves A (CMY) and B (K). FOGRA51 replaced FOGRA39.
FOGRA47
Offset printing on uncoated white substrate and tone value increase curves C (CMY) and D (K). FOGRA52 replaced FOGRA47.
FOGRA51 (default)
Offset printing on premium gloss or matte coated substrate with moderate fluorescence and tone value increase curves A (CMYK).
FOGRA52
Printing on wood-free uncoated substrate with high fluorescence and tone value increase curves C (CMYK).

If the selected Color Verification is GRACoL 2013 or Simple Gray Scale 2013, select either your custom Color Space or a value from this list:

Standard
Verify colors based on the color standard selected in the Color Verification list.
GRACoL 2013 Coated (default)
ISO/PAS 15339-2 Characterized Reference Printing Condition 6, using typical premium gloss or matte coated substrate.
GRACoL 2013 Uncoated
ISO/PAS 15339-2 Characterized Reference Printing Condition 3, using typical premium uncoated substrate.
XCMYK 2017
Offset printing on commercial gloss or matte coated substrate.
