Color Adjustment Limits

Use this section to specify the default values that you want to use when you create an ICC profile for adjusting the colors of your printer. You can select the Delta E2000 Deviation Limits and the CMYK Density Limits.

These values are used for all color charts without customized color adjustment limits. For details, see Color Charts.

Delta E2000 Deviation Limits

This section displays the acceptable deviation limits while measuring colors within a page or between the pages of the scanned color chart.

ΔE00 Deviation on a Page
Specifies the ΔE00 color deviation measured on color patches within a single page of the color chart.
ΔE00 Deviation Between Pages
Specifies the ΔE00 color deviation measured on color patches between the pages of the color chart.

To change the default deviation values, enter values for color deviation from 0.00 through 99.99 in the Warning and Error fields. The lower the values, the more accurate the color adjustment. However, selecting a value that is close to the maximum value in the range, might not trigger an error or warning message, resulting in a less accurate color adjustment.

If the warning limit is exceeded, the application creates the ICC profile, but displays a warning message.

If the error limit is exceeded, the application does not create the ICC profile, and you are prompted to adjust the colors on your printer.

Default values indicating the color deviation limits starting from which the application displays a warning message:

  • ΔE00 Deviation on a Page: 4.00
  • ΔE00 Deviation Between Pages: 6.00

Default values indicating the color deviation limits starting from which the application displays an error message:

  • ΔE00 Deviation on a Page: 1.50
  • ΔE00 Deviation Between Pages: 2.50

CMYK Density Limits

This section displays the default density limits for cyan, magenta, yellow, and black on a scanned chart.

To change the default density values, enter values from 0.00 through 5.00 in the Warning and Error fields corresponding to Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. The higher the values, the more accurate the color adjustment. However, the 0.00 value triggers no error or warning message.

If the measured CMYK values are below the warning limit, the application creates the ICC profile, but displays a warning message.

If the measured CMYK values are below the error limit, the application does not create the ICC profile and displays an error message.

Default values indicating the density limits up to which the application displays a warning message:

  • Cyan: 1.50
  • Magenta: 1.40
  • Yellow: 0.90
  • Black: 1.65

Default values indicating the density limits up to which the application displays an error message:

  • Cyan: 1.25
  • Magenta: 1.15
  • Yellow: 0.80
  • Black: 1.45
