Locations

Use the Locations page to add, edit, or delete sites where your printers are located. You can also refresh the list of printer locations to see the changes if several users are editing it simultaneously.

To access the Locations page, go to the Configuration page and select Manage Locations. On the Locations page, you can add a location, and edit or delete an existing location. You can also refresh, sort, and filter the list of locations.

Adding a Location

On the Add Location page, type the name of the new location, the address, and the description.

Name
Specifies the name of the new location and is a required field. The location name must be unique, and must be at least 2 characters and no more than 250 characters in length. The data type you can enter in this field is string.
Address
Specifies the address of the new location and is an optional field. Use this field to enter the postal address, room number, room name, or any other detail related to the physical location you are adding or editing. The address must be no more than 500 characters in length.
Description
Specifies the description of the location and is an optional field. Use this field to enter information about the location. The description must be no more than 500 characters in length.

Adding the first location after you install the application enables the Manage Printers button on the Configuration page.

Once you save a new location, it is displayed on the Locations page. The new location is also displayed on the Add Printer and Edit Printer pages, in the Locations list.

Once you add a printer on the Printers page, that printer is also shown on the Locations page, as additional information for the corresponding location. To display the location details, expand the row containing the location linked with that printer. For details about expanding and collapsing rows, see Expanding an Object or Section and Collapsing an Object or Section.

Editing a Location

Use the Edit Location page to edit the name, the address, or the description of an existing location. For details about the values you can enter in the Name, Address, and Description fields, see the Adding a Location section.

Deleting a Location

You can delete a location only if there is no printer linked with that location.
