Paper Catalog
To access the Paper Catalog page, go to the Configuration page and select Manage Paper Catalog. On the Paper Catalog page, you can add a paper, and edit or delete an existing paper. You can also refresh, sort, and filter the paper catalog.
- Note:
- For more information, see Managing Objects.
- If the Paper Catalog section on the Configuration page is disabled, go to the Printers section to add at least one printer first. For more information, see Printers and Using the Configuration Page.
Adding Paper
On the Add Paper page, specify the name of the new paper. You can also specify the Fiery calibration name, paper type, and description.
- Name
- Specifies the name of the new paper and is a required field. The paper name must be unique, and must be at least 2 characters and no more than 250 characters in length. The data type you can enter in this field is string.
- Fiery Calibration Name
- Specifies the calibration name used on Fiery and is a required field if you are using a Fiery DFE.
In this field, type the same calibration name used on the Fiery DFE. Otherwise, the automatic import of the ICC profile created with the Quick Color Adjustment function fails. The Fiery DFE uses the following predefined calibration names:
- Plain
- Coated-Glossy
- Coated-Matte
This setting is ignored when you are using other DFE than Fiery.
- Type
- Specifies the type of the paper that you are going to use. Choices are:
- Plain (default)
- Specifies that the paper you are using does not have a pattern, lines, or other markings.
- Matt Coated
- Specifies that the paper you are using is matt.
- Gloss Coated
- Specifies that the paper you are using is glossy.
- Description
- Specifies the description of the new paper and is optional. Use this field to enter information about the paper you are adding or editing. The description must be no more than 500 characters in length.
Once you save the new paper, that paper is displayed on the Paper Catalog page. The new paper is also displayed on the Add Color Chart and Edit Color Chart pages.
Once you add a chart on the Color Charts page, the printer you select for that chart is also displayed on the Paper Catalog page, as additional information for the corresponding paper. To display the paper details, expand the row containing that paper. For details about expanding and collapsing rows, see Expanding an Object or Section and Collapsing an Object or Section.
Editing a Paper
Use the Edit Paper page to edit the details related to an existing paper.
Deleting a Paper
You can delete a paper only if there is no color chart defined with that paper.
