Using the Desktop Application
This section provides information for using the desktop application and includes procedures
for using the Quick Color Adjustment, Color Sample Matching, and Colorimetry functions.
In this section:
- Displaying the Desktop ApplicationUse the desktop application to operate the Quick Color Adjustment, Color Sample Matching, and Colorimetry functions. You can also configure application settings and access the help system from the desktop application.
- Quick Color AdjustmentScans a color chart and generates an ICC profile automatically. Use this function at regular intervals to prevent colors on the output sheets from changing because of the printer condition or printing environment.
- Color Sample MatchingColor Sample Matching helps replicating the colors of a hard copy sample by measuring them and generating an ICC profile specific to that document and target printer. Manually import the created ICC profile as the source CMYK input profile on the DFE, then use the profile when printing a document.
- ColorimetryThe Colorimetry function allows you to create a color chart with customized colors, patch size, and page size. You can then print the color chart on the target printer and measure the output colors. Alternatively, you can use a predefined color chart based on a standard set of colors and page size. The measurement results can be saved in IT8 format and used with external color management applications.
