Settings Tab

Click , the Settings icon, in the top-right corner of Ricoh Supervisor Data Collector main page, to view and edit General Settings, view Plug-in Management and Activity Log information.

General tab

In the General tab, you can view and edit specific information on the current version of the Data Collector.

Name

You can enter or edit the name of the Data Collector.

Store Data Locally

To store the collected data locally, enable Store Data Locally. You can edit the Store Data Locally field or click , the Browse for Folder button, to create or select a folder from the operating system where the Data Collector is installed and where the collected data will be stored. Storing data locally may require additional disk space.

    Important:
  • If you enable Store Data Locally, Ricoh Supervisor Data Collector does not send data to the cloud and, as a result, you will not be able to see it in Analytics. Use this option only if you have other means of analyzing data.
  • Even if Store Data Locally is enabled, you must have internet connection in order for your subscription to be validated.
  • Ricoh Supervisor Data Collector does not manage your local data storage. If you enable Store Data Locally, Data Collector creates a series of files with the data collected from the printers, into the specified location, each time new data is collected. Delete or move unnecessary files created by the Data Collector in the specified local data storage location.

Current version

The system displays the current version number and the build number of the Data Collector.

Available updates

If an update is available and you are running the Data Collector from the computer where it is installed, you can use the displayed download button to get the new version.

Description

You can enter a description of the Data Collector.

Use HTTP Proxy Server

Click Use HTTP Proxy Server, the gray toggle to enable the proxy settings for Internet connection. Improper proxy configuration may cause connectivity issues with the cloud. If there are any connectivity issues, the system displays an offline status on the top of the main page.

Host Address

Specify the IP address or the DNS name for the proxy server.

Port

Specify the port number for the proxy server.

Username

Enter a valid user name for the proxy server.

Password

Enter the password for the specified user name.

Bypass/Exclude Hosts

Specify the IP address or the DNS name for the proxy server exceptions. You can add or remove exceptions from the bypass list by using the plus or minus buttons. Each exception should be listed on a separated line.

To save the changes, click OK. To discard the changes, click Cancel.

Plug-in Management tab

In the Plug-in Management tab, you can view information on the plug-ins used for data gathering from various sources in Data Collector. Each plug-in card displays the following information: name, producer, description, and version of the plug-in.

    Note:
  • To get customer support, you can call the number displayed on the last card in the Plug-in Management tab, Custom Data Sources. In order to have access to Professional Services, you need to convert from a trial version to a purchased subscription of the Data Collector.
Activity Log tab

In the Activity Log tab, you can view information on the actions taking place while there is no administrator logged in or actions made by other administrators. Data is stored in the activity log for 30 days in Ricoh Supervisor Data Collector.

The following information is available in the Activity Log:

  • Severity
  • Timestamp
  • Issued by
  • Event Type
  • Component
  • Component Type
  • Message

Click , the cancel button, to close the Activity Log tab and return to the Printers page.
