Managing the password of the ipm1 default user

    Important:
  • The default password for the ipm1 user account is Inf0PrintManager. If you do not use this password for the ipm1 user, the InfoPrint Manager services will not start. You can change the default password after the InfoPrint Manager installation.

To change the ipm1 password:

  1. In the Windows Computer Management console, select System Tools Local Users and Groups Users.
  2. Right-click ipm1 and select Set Password....
      Note:
    • You can also change the ipm1 password by logging on as ipm1, pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and selecting Change a password.

    Important:
  • After you change the ipm1 password, you must use the new password for each InfoPrint Manager service. You can change the password for InfoPrint Manager services either from the Windows Services console or from the InfoPrint Manager Management Console.

To change the password for each InfoPrint Manager service from the Windows Services console:

  1. In the Windows Services console, right-click each InfoPrint Manager service, and select Stop.
  2. Right-click each InfoPrint Manager service and select Properties.
  3. Click Log On, select the This account checkbox, set the new ipm1 password, and click Apply.
  4. Right-click each InfoPrint Manager service and select Start.
      Important:
    • Make sure that the first service whose password you change is InfoPrint Manager Licensing Service.

To change the password for the InfoPrint Manager services from the InfoPrint Manager Management Console:

  1. In the InfoPrint Manager Management Console, click File Stop Server to stop each running server from the list.
  2. Click Edit Service Account/Domain to open the Service Account/Domain dialog.
  3. Enter the ipm1 password you just created in the Password field and click OK.
  4. Click File Start Server.
