Limitations

This section lists the limitations for the img2afp transform:
  • The img2afp transform is intended to process the color output of the ps2afp transform, the pdf2afp transform, and the raster image transforms. Data streams that use features not generated by these transforms, such as different resolutions or scale to fit, might result in errors from the img2afp transform.
  • One bit for each spot CMYK images, such as FS42, is not supported on input.
  • Only inline resources can be merged by the img2afp transform. External resources are allowed, but these are just passed through as if they are non-image data.
  • If the input data stream contains non-IOCA data, it might process incorrectly (see Processing Logic for more information).
