Procedures

Do these steps to check and set the attributes:
  1. Check these actual destination attributes:
    1. For SNMPv1:

      snmp-community-name

      snmp-write-community-name

      Note: InfoPrint Manager keeps both attributes and uses them as follows:
      • If snmp-write-community-name attribute is set, it is used for both reading and setting SNMP data. In this case, snmp-community-name attribute is ignored.
      • If snmp-write-community-name attribute is not set, snmp-community-name attribute is used. In this case, any attempts to set other SNMP data on the device should fail.
    2. For SNMPv3:

      snmpv3-username

      snmpv3-authentication-type

      snmpv3-authentication-password

      snmpv3-privacy-type

      snmpv3-privacy-password

      snmpv3-security-level

      snmpv3-context-name

    3. For SNMPv1 and SNMPv3:

      snmp-retry-count

      snmp-timeout

      snmp-active-version

      Note: The snmp-active-version attribute is read only.

      snmp-version

      snmp-version-fallback

      use-snmp

  2. If the defaults in Step 1 in this section are correct, set this actual destination attribute:
    • destination-tcpip-internet-address
    • Indicates the IP address of the SNMP printer. The field on the tab is “TCP/IP address”.
  3. Check this actual destination attribute:
    • snmp-active
    • Indicates whether the server has been able to establish an SNMP session with the printer. The field on the SNMP tab is “SNMP is active”.
  4. Set these server attributes:
    • snmp-discovery-during-startup

      Indicates whether the server queries the printer MIB when InfoPrint Manager starts or whether the server gets the printer status when it periodically polls the printer. The default is “true”, but you might want to set it to “false” if you have several SNMP printers and you want to make the server start faster. The field on the SNMP tab is “Discover printers at startup”.

    • snmp-normal-poll-interval

      Indicates the number of seconds that the server should wait after sequentially polling all the SNMP printers without known problems. Increasing the polling interval causes the server to use less CPU and network resources for SNMP polling, but it makes the currently shown printer status (for printers that are not currently printing) less accurate. The field on the SNMP tab is “Normal poll interval”.

    • snmp-problem-poll-interval

      Indicates the number of seconds that the server should wait after sequentially polling all the SNMP printers with known problems. Increasing the polling interval causes the server to use less CPU and network resources for SNMP polling, but it makes the currently shown printer status (for printers that are not currently printing) less accurate. The field on the SNMP tab is “Problem poll interval”.
