This section describes the characteristics of InfoPrint Manager Transform Feature.

Transform Feature:

  • Support these data and raster image transforms to AFP:
    • HP Printer Control Language (PCL) at PCL6
    • Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) Version 1.7 or earlier
    • Adobe PostScript (PS) Language Level 3
    • Graphics Interchange Format (GIF)
    • Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG)
    • Systems Applications and Products (SAP OTF and ABAP)
    • Tagged Image File Format (TIFF)

    PDF and PS transform requests are processed as groups of pages. GIF, JPEG, and TIFF transform requests are handled in parallel on a job basis.

  • Support the transform of AFP data to PDF data (afp2pdf transform).
  • Improve transform performance of large PDF jobs.
  • Provides remote transform processing.
  • Require that input TIFF files must be less than 2 gigabytes. That is, the tiff2afp transform does not support input files larger than 2 gigabytes.
  • Include the gif2afp, jpeg2afp, pcl2afp, pdf2afp, and ps2afp configuration files that have been modified to support files larger than 2 gigabytes.
  • Are printer-independent.
