Setting up datastream transforms
You can configure RICOH ProcessDirector to transform input data files to formats that your printers can print.
In this section:
- Transforming line data to AFPRICOH ProcessDirector includes a transform that you can use to convert line data into an Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) format.
- Activating the Adobe PDF Print Engine conversion programYou can use either the Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) or Configurable PostScript Interpreter (CPSI) conversion program to transform PDF data to AFP.
- Setting up user exit programsRICOH ProcessDirector can call user exit programs that can modify the AFP print file for a job before or after it prints. Authorized users can modify and compile the sample exit programs that RICOH ProcessDirector provides or they can write their own. RICOH ProcessDirector provides sample exit programs in the
/usr/lpp/psf/exits
(AIX and Linux) orC:\Program Files (x86)\Ricoh\PSF\exits
(Windows) directory. - Configuring for the RICOH Transform featuresIf you have installed one or more of the RICOH Transform features, you can configure RICOH ProcessDirector to use these features.
- Configuring for the Advanced Transform featureIf you have installed one or more input and output transforms for the Advanced Transform feature, you can create workflows that use those transforms.
- Configuring for InfoPrint Manager transformsInfoPrint Manager for Linux, InfoPrint Manager for AIX, and InfoPrint Manager for Windows include transforms that convert jobs to AFP format from DBCS ASCII, DBCS EUC, ditroff, GIF, JPEG, line data, PCL, PDF, PostScript, SAP, TIFF, or XML format. If InfoPrint Manager is installed on a computer accessible to RICOH ProcessDirector, RICOH ProcessDirector can use the InfoPrint Manager transforms.
