Operation Workflow in Color Sample Matching

The physical color sample based on which colors are replicated is also called golden sample. Scan or load the golden color sample, then print the pages used as original data, and scan them. Afterwards, compare and match their colors using Color Sample Matching. Use the ICC profile generated by the color matching process to print the document using colors as similar to the color sample as possible.
  1. If you have the saved original data and the saved golden sample, load them.
  2. If you do not have the saved original data and the saved golden sample, prepare the original PDF and the physical color sample.
    1. Print the document using the target printer and paper. The printed output is the reference sample obtained by printing the PDF file using the printer default settings.Printing the document
    2. Select Color Sample Matching, then load the PDF file in the Original Data section.Starting the Color Sample Matching function and loading the PDF file in the application
    3. Place the golden sample in the paper tray of the scanner, and then scan it.
  3. Place the reference sample on the scanner tray, then scan it using the Scan button in the Before Color Matching section.Scanning the reference sample
  4. Execute color matching, then save the ICC profile.
  5. Optional: Save the original data and the golden sample data.
  6. Import the ICC profile to a DFE, and then print the PDF file using the ICC profile.Importing the ICC profile to a DFE and printing the PDF file with the new ICC profile
The printer uses the new ICC profile and replicates the colors as close as possible to the golden sample.
