Interrupting and restarting a job that is currently printing on an InfoPrint 4000/4100

Use this procedure:

  • If you want to interrupt the job that is currently printing and start printing it again
  • If you want to interrupt the job that is currently printing, print another job, and then start the job that you interrupted.
  • If you want to interrupt the job that is currently printing, move the job to a different printer, and start printing the job again.

This procedure does NOT stop the printer; it only stops the job that is currently printing. Other jobs continue to print on this printer.

Once the job is stopped, the next job in the queue will start to print. If you need to stop the printer (for example, to replace toner), use the procedure Stopping a printer to perform scheduled maintenance.

    Note:
  • Refer to the online help in the InfoPrint Manager GUI if you need instructions on completing any of these steps.

When you use the Interrupting a job that is currently printing procedure, the job fills a physical sheet, stops, and prints a message after the last page indicating the number of the last (AFP) page printed. The job shows on the GUI as Paused. When the job restarts, it starts on the next page of the job in the next logical partition. InfoPrint Manager prints a message at the end of the restarted section of the job indicating the page on which the printing started. You might want to use this procedure if you are printing a very long job, and you need to print another, more urgent job immediately.
