Using the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) with InfoPrint Manager

The Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) is an application protocol that uses the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) to allow you to print your documents to any IPP-enabled printer whose web address (or Uniform Resource Identifier-URI) you know. You can use IPP to send print data over both LANs and the Internet so users who are directly connected to your LAN as well as those who work remotely have access to the same printers. InfoPrint Manager for Linux provides one way to configure your system to print using IPP.
