Adding an IPP gateway printer to a workstation

Instruct your end users to follow the steps below to add a printer that uses the IPP gateway to their desktops. This procedure assumes that IPP client software is installed on the workstation. If the IPP client software is not installed, the Printer Working Group (the organization that is leading the development of IPP) provides a list of IPP client software that you can use to find an appropriate client at http://www.pwg.org/ipp/.
  1. Locate the address of the printer that you want to print to.
  2. Follow the instructions provided with your IPP client software for adding a printer to your desktop.

After you have added the printer to your desktop, you can print to it just as you would print to any other printer.
