Enabling large file support

Important:

Enabling large file support on an existing file system is more involved than just enabling large file support. To enable large file support on an existing file system, complete these steps:

  1. Backup the existing file system.
  2. Delete the existing file system.
  3. Create a new file system that is large file enabled.
  4. Mount the new file system.
  5. Verify that the new file system is large file enabled.
  6. Restore the existing file system from the backup copy into the new file system that is large file enabled.
