First Failure Data Capture (FFDC)

First Failure Data Capture (FFDC) provides an automated snapshot of the system environment when an unexpected internal error occurs in an InfoPrint Manager server or actual destination. This snapshot is used by InfoPrint support personnel to provide a better understanding of the state of the system and InfoPrint Manager when the problem occurred.

The First Failure Data Capture system is not activated when InfoPrint Manager is installed. It can be activated and configured through a SMIT panel. FFDC produces information similar to the InfoPrint Manager pdcapture function.
