Specifying hot folder poll method

There are two hot folder poll methods. By default, the file access monitoring method is used when jobs are submitted through a hot folder. This method is used for single or multiple-document jobs. If you have hot folders with large single or multiple-document jobs, or both, copied over the network in a Network File Share folder, you need to use the file size monitoring method. This method will check the file size during the poll interval before submitting the job to InfoPrint Manager. The default method will not work for files being copied over the network in a NFS folder.

You can specify the hot folder poll method with this procedure:

  1. Open the InfoPrint Manager Administration GUI.
  2. Find the logical destination that you want the hot folder to submit jobs to and select it.
  3. In the Properties notebook for the logical destination, click Hot folder poll method and select the hot folder poll method suitable for you. If you use the File size monitoring method, key in the poll interval value in the Hot folder poll interval field. The default value is 30.
  4. Copy the documents you want to print into the hot job folder.
Note: If you copy multiple files in a single operation on a Windows system, the order of document submission will be in alphabetical order. If the print order matters, rename the files according to the intended submission order or use the Submitting multiple-document jobs method.
