Using the AFP2PDF Plus Transform
This chapter describes how to start and stop the AFP2PDF Plus Server and how to run
the AFP2PDF Plus Transform client.

- AFP2PDF Plus Transform CommandThe new
afp2pdf
client command is plug-compatible with the previousafp2pdf
command (5876-W01). It transforms AFP files and resources into PDF files that you can distribute over the Internet and view with a Web browser installed with the Adobe Acrobat plug-in. If the plug-in is not installed on your Web browser, you can view the PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Reader. - AFP2PDF Plus Transform Options FileParameters to control settings for the AFP2PDF Plus Transform are specified in an options file. By default, the name of this file is
a2pxopts.cfg
. When running the transform function with theafp2pdf
client command-line program, the options file must reside in the same directory as the program module. - Working with AFP Visual Environment Control FilesThe AFP2PDF Plus transform uses the AFP Visual Environment (AVE) program to manipulate the AFP before it is converted to PDF. AVE is a JAVA-based program that allows you to manipulate AFP files in a variety of ways.
- Running AFP2PDF Plus in a private Azure CloudMicrosoft Azure provides a wide variety of virtual machines with configurable operating systems like Windows, Linux SUSE, CentOS, and configurable resources, for example: memory, CPUs, storage space, storage type HDD/SDD.
