Starting the InfoPrint SMIT administrator's interface

You have two basic methods of accessing the InfoPrint SMIT administrator's interface:

  • You can access the main menu of the InfoPrint SMIT administrator's interface from the main AIX SMIT menu:
    1. Enter one of these commands at the AIX command prompt. The first command starts SMIT in the AIXwindows mode. The second command starts SMIT in the ASCII mode: 
      smit
smitty
    2. Select InfoPrint Printing System.
  • Enter one of these fastpath commands at the AIX command prompt to bypass the main AIX SMIT panel and go directly to the main panel for a group of InfoPrint tasks.
    Note: Most InfoPrint SMIT panels contain fastpath commands that you can access by selecting the F8Image key.
