The search order for data objects

InfoPrint Manager searches for data objects in different locations and in a different order than it uses for other AFP resources.

InfoPrint Manager searches for data objects in these locations in this order:

  1. Inline objects
  2. The path specified by the resource-context-page-segment document attribute if object is IOCA that is not installed in a data object RAT
  3. The path specified by the resource-context-presentation-object-container document attribute
  4. The path specified by the resource-context document attribute
  5. The path specified by the PSFPATH environment variable
  6. The path specified by the resource-context-presentation-object-container actual destination attribute
  7. The path specified by the resource-context actual destination attribute
  8. The system dependant library:
    /usr/afp/reslib/legacy
    Note:
  1. InfoPrint Manager searches for data objects using the UTF-16 name and the 64-character name provided in the data stream. The search process is different from previous versions. InfoPrint Manager now searches items one through four by UTF-16 name and then search items one through four by eight byte name. Then, InfoPrint Manager searches items five through eight by UTF-16 name and then by eight byte name.
  2. If a data object changes after a job prints, recycle the actual destination by disabling and enabling the connection.
