PSF Command printer

Use the command attachment type for a PCL printer that receives data streams transformed by PSF from a print command.

Before creating a PSF Command printer, complete this worksheet.

Wizard Prompt Description Value
Name The name for the actual destination object (64 character limit).
Note: This name is case-sensitive.
 
Server The InfoPrint server that controls this actual destination. The server name is the same as the name of the system where the server is installed.
Note: This name is case-sensitive.
 
Model Select the printer model from the pull-down list in the InfoPrint Manager Administration GUI. If the printer you are working with is not in the pull-down list, enter the name as it appears on the printer.  
SNMP TCP/IP address The IP address used to access this printer. This value is used only for SNMP printers.  
Device The AIX device name. This is not applicable for Windows. Leave blank.
Printer command The command string used to send a job to the appropriate Windows printer. For example, lpr -S serverName -P printerName.
Note: This command is case-sensitive.
 
Data stream The data stream expected by the printing device (for example, PCL5 or PCL 6).  
Logical destination The logical destination that directs jobs to this actual destination.
Note: This name is case-sensitive.

Queue The queue that holds jobs destined for this actual destination.

Note: Prior to using this worksheet to create your InfoPrint Manager actual destination, you can use the standard WindowsAdd Printer Wizard to make the printer available.

To create this type of printer, use the Create Printer Wizard in the InfoPrint Manager Administration GUI. (On the menu bar, click Printer → Create → PSF → Command.)

Note: If the Command is not shown in the Printer → Create → PSF menu, use Printer → Add/Remove Menu Items to add it.
