Desktop Application Errors

This section describes the causes and solutions for errors that might occur in the desktop application.
    Note:
  • For fixing error messages specific to each function, see the troubleshooting sections in the chapters dedicated to each function.

Message Cause Solution and Reference
Failed to start the application. Try again. If the error persists, contact your service representative. Failed to initialize the variables for Color Sample Matching. Create a backup of the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster settings, uninstall the software, and then install it again.

Failed to start the application.There is a network problem, please check. The client computer failed to access the server, or a problem is occurring in an application on the server.
  • Check that the computer is connected to the network.
  • Restart Windows on the computer and server.

If the error persists, contact your service representative.

An error has occurred in the following location.Turn the main power off and back on, then restart the application.If the error persists, contact your service representative.

SCXXX-XX

A malfunction that might require a repair occurred on the scanner. Turn off the power of the scanner, and then turn it on again.

If the error persists, contact your service representative with the message and SC number.

SCXXX-XX

A malfunction that might require a repair occurred in the communication between the scanner and the computer.
  • Check that the scanner and the computer are connected using two USB cables.
  • Turn off the power of the scanner, and then turn it back on.

If the error persists, contact your service representative with the message and SC number.

Colorimeter has not been connected. Connect the colorimeter and then restart the application. A problem occurred in the communication between the scanner and the computer.
  • Check that the scanner and the computer are connected using two USB cables.
  • If the scanner is turned off, turn it on. If the scanner is turned on, turn it off and then back on.
  • Close Quick Color Adjustment, Color Sample Matching, Colorimetry, and the Settings dialog, then start them again from the application menu. If only the application menu is displayed, start the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster again.
  • Restart Windows. When you are using a client computer, restart Windows on the server also.
Not secure The SSL certificate that you are using when accessing the server online from the client computer is not installed on the server. Add the SSL certificate to the server.
The license has expired. Update the license. The license has expired.
  • Contact your sales representative. When the server computer is connected to the Internet, the status of the license is updated automatically after the license is renewed.
  • The license information is displayed at the bottom of the menu dialog.
  • To update the license information, select the SettingsSettings button button, then select License Management in the left pane.
