Installing the RICOH ProcessDirector version of PostgreSQL
The RICOH ProcessDirector version of the PostgreSQL database is the easiest method to set up your PostgreSQL
environment. RICOH ProcessDirector configures the PostgreSQL environment at installation time, allowing RICOH ProcessDirector to communicate with the PostgreSQL database. Also, RICOH ProcessDirector offers specialized maintenance scripts for the PostgreSQL database and the choice
to migrate your database in case you need.
The RICOH ProcessDirector version of PostgreSQL is installed when you install the RICOH ProcessDirector base product.
The RICOH ProcessDirector installation program installs PostgreSQL in a Docker container. You must install Docker Engine 24.0.6 or higher before you install RICOH ProcessDirector to use the PostgreSQL configuration. If you cannot use Docker on your system, you can install your own version of PostgreSQL. See Configuring your own PostgreSQL database for more details.
