Installation

- Backing up DataYou can use the
aiwbackup
program to archive a copy of your TotalFlow Production Manager configuration, or allow the uninstall program to do the data backup. Then use the backup copy to restore the configuration. - Installing TotalFlow Production Manager
- Disabling the LPD ServerIf you plan to use the LPD protocol to submit jobs to TotalFlow Production Manager, disable any other LPD server on the system where TotalFlow Production Manager is installed. The TotalFlow Production Manager server includes an LPD server. Only one LPD server can run on a system at a time.
- Installing the LPR ClientIf you plan to submit jobs from TotalFlow Production Manager to Passthrough printers, which can print both PDF and other data streams, you must install an LPR client on the system where TotalFlow Production Manager is installed. You must also install an LPR client on any system that uses the LPD protocol to submit jobs to TotalFlow Production Manager.
- Installing the Permanent LicenseThe TotalFlow Production Manager installer installs a trial license. The trial license lets you use TotalFlow Production Manager for 60 days. To continue using TotalFlow Production Manager after the trial license expires, you must install a permanent license.
- Upgrading to a Higher VersionIf you already have TotalFlow Production Manager installed, you can upgrade to a higher version without uninstalling your existing software.
- Migrating to a New Operating SystemIf you want to change your operating system, you can back up your data on your current machine and restore it on the new one. You can also restore your data from a 32–bit operating system onto a 64–bit operating system.
