Collecting Logs Using LogCollector
Use this section to collect log files using LogCollector. LogCollector is part of
the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster.
It is recommended to collect files using LogCollector if any issue occurs while using the desktop application. However, it is mandatory to collect log files using LogCollector if one of the following situations occurs:
- You cannot start the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster.
- An error occurred in the desktop application while using any of the Quick Color Adjustment, Color Sample Matching, or Colorimetry dialogs.
To collect logs using LogCollector:
- If you want to save the log files in the default location, use the LogCollector.exe
file.
- On your local drive, go to
C:\RicohAutoColorAdjuster\inst\LogCollector - Double-click LogCollector.exe.Your log file is saved in PACK format under
C:\RicohAutoColorAdjuster\Temp
- On your local drive, go to
- If you want to select the location where to save the log files or to remove the log
files once they are collected, use Command Prompt.
- Open File Explorer.
- In the File Explorer address bar, type
C:\RicohAutoColorAdjuster\inst\LogCollectorand press Enter. - In the File Explorer address bar, replace the current folder path with
cmd. Press Enter.A Command Prompt dialog is opened. - In the Command Prompt dialog, type
LogCollector.exe [--output output folder path] [--move], where both--outputand--moveare optional parameters as follows:--outputis an optional parameter that allows specifying the output location. Add the folder path right after the parameter. If the folder path includes blank spaces, use quotes for the entire path.--moveis an optional parameter that triggers the application to attempt removing the traces from the disk after the log collection is complete.
- The log file in PACK format is saved under the selected output folder path.
