Installing AFP2PDF Plus Transform using the installer

The AFP2PDF Plus Transform can now be installed using an executable jar file from the ISO file or downloaded from https://dl.ricohsoftware.com.

The AFP2PDF Plus installer is available in two versions based on your Java environment:

RTS--setupafp2pdfplus-1.X.X--afp2pdfplus_Java8.jar Java 8
RTS--setupafp2pdfplus-1.X.X--afp2pdfplus_Java11.jar Java 11 and later
where 1.X.X represents the transform version number.

To run the installer, perform these steps:

  1. Use the following command: java - jar RTS--setupafp2pdfplus-1.X.X--afp2pdfplus_Javan.jar, where 1.X.X is the transform version and n is the Java version.

    Note: On some Java versions, due to a bug, the above java -jar command might not start the installer. Use this additional parameter: java -Djdk.util.zip.disableZip64ExtraFieldValidation=true -jar RTS--setupafp2pdfplus-1.X.X--afp2pdfplus_Javan.jar where 1.X.X is the transform version and n is the Java version.

    Depending on the capabilities of your operating system, the AFP2PDF Plus transform opens either using a graphical user interface or a command line.
      Note:
    • To install the transform, you need 64 bit Java 1.8 or later and administrative rights.
  2. Follow the installation steps and select either a new install or an upgrade.
The split_afp2pdf and archiveload_afp2pdf programs are delivered as a part of the AFP2PDF Plus Transform. The operating system prerequisites are the same as for the AFP2PDF Plus Transform.
