Installing the PS2PDF Transform

This procedure steps through an installation of the PS2PDF transform on AIX, Linux, and Windows using the installer.
The PS2PDF transform can be installed using an executable file on Windows operating systems and a bin file for AIX and Linux operating systems downloaded from https://dl.ricohsoftware.com.

Depending on the capabilities of your operating system, PS2PDF transform installer opens either using a graphical user interface or a command line.

The PS2PDF installer automatically installs a 60-day trial license. The trial license key is installed in the installation directory. The default installation directory is /opt/RICOH/ps2pdf for AIX and Linux and C:\Program Files\RICOH\RICOH PS2PDF Transform for Windows.

Use these procedures to install PS2PDF:

For AIX:

  1. Log into the AIX system as root.
  2. Copy the RTS--setupPs2pdf-1.X.X--ps2pdf.AIX.bin installation file, where 1.X.X is the transform version, to a temporary directory of your choice. For example, you can use the /tmp directory.
  3. Go to the folder where you downloaded the installation file. Open a command line and type: 
     cd /tmp
  4. To list the files contained in the directory, type: 
    ls
  5. To start the installation process, type:
    ./RTS--setupPs2pdf-1.X.X--ps2pdf.AIX.bin
    where 1.X.X is the transform version.
      Important:
    • Make sure that you have permission to execute the file.
  6. Follow the instructions in the installer.
  7. Review and accept the license agreement.
  8. Select the installation folder. The default installation folder is: /opt/RICOH/ps2pdf
  9. Click Next to review the settings.
  10. Click Install.

For Linux:

  1. Log into the Linux system as root.
  2. Copy the RTS--setupPs2pdf-1.X.X--ps2pdf.Linux.bin installation file, where 1.X.X is the transform version, to a temporary directory of your choice. For example, you can use the /tmp directory.
  3. Go to the folder where you downloaded the installation file. Open a command line and type: 
     cd /tmp
  4. To list the files contained in the directory, type: 
    ls
  5. To start the installation process, type:
    ./RTS--setupPs2pdf-1.X.X--ps2pdf.Linux.bin
    where 1.X.X is the transform version.
      Important:

For Windows:

  1. Log in to the Windows system as administrator.
  2. Copy the RTS--setupPs2pdf-1.X.X--ps2pdf.Windows.exe installation file, where 1.X.X is the transform version, to a directory of your choice.
  3. Double-click the RTS--setupPs2pdf-1.X.X--ps2pdf.Windows.exe installation file to start the installation process.
  4. Follow the instructions in the installer.
  5. Review and accept the license agreement.
  6. Select the installation folder. The default installation folder is: C:\Program Files\RICOH\RICOH PS2PDF Transform.
  7. Click Next to review the settings.
  8. Click Install.
