Preflighting Jobs

Preflighting is the process of checking PDF jobs before printing to make sure that the files are compliant with the PDF quality requirements.

    Tip:
  • For a video overview of the Preflight function, see: Preflight

Preflighting is available with RICOH TotalFlow Producer Advanced and Trial subscriptions.

Submitted files are automatically preflighted using an embedded profile. You can see the Preflighting status displayed in the Status column. When the preflighting is complete, , the Preflight complete icon, is displayed in the Preflight column. To see the preflight summary, hover over the job's Preflight cell.

If you have purchased a subscription for Preflight or Preflight Premium, the preflight summary shows information about the preflight profile name, the number of pages of the PDF file, and errors, warnings and fixes that were applied. It also generates a report named job_file_name_Report.pdf that you can view, save or print.

If you have purchased a subscription for Preflight or Preflight Premium, you can also process the jobs manually, using a custom preflight profile, set a new profile as default, or disable the automatic preflight.

To verify that you have the required add-ons, open the Account Administration Subscription page and click Details on the RICOH TotalFlow Producer subscription card.
