Upgrading the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster

Upgrade the installed RICOH Auto Color Adjuster when a newer version of the application becomes available.
    Note:
  • If using a Fiery DFE and if the installed Fiery Command WorkStation version is no longer supported, upgrade it. For the supported versions, see Supported Printers.
To upgrade the RICOH Auto Color Adjuster:
  1. Back up your application settings. For more information, see Backing Up the Application Settings.
      Note:
    • If the upgrade procedure fails, you can use this backup file to revert to your previous settings.
  2. Download the installer from the manufacturer website, and save it to the computer connected to the scanner.
  3. Log in to the computer using a user account with administrator privileges.
  4. Run the downloaded AutoColorAdjusterSetup_Verxxxx.exe file.
      Note:
    • xxxx varies depending upon the release version of the application.
  5. If you receive a message that Windows protected your PC, select More info ⇒ Run anyway.
    The setup wizard is displayed.
  6. In the setup wizard, select Install.
  7. If prompted to allow this application to make changes to your device, select Yes.
    While the setup is in progress, a second setup wizard is displayed.
  8. In the second setup wizard, select Next.
  9. Select I accept the terms in the License Agreement, then select Next.
  10. Select Install.
    The installation starts.
  11. If you receive a message that a reboot is required to complete the setup, select OK to continue the upgrade process.
  12. When the installation is complete, a web page displaying the new functions and features opens automatically.
  13. In the second setup wizard, select Finish.
    The second setup wizard closes.
  14. In the first setup wizard, you receive a message that you must restart your computer before using the application. To restart your computer now, select Restart.
  15. If you upgraded from the 1.3.1.0 version, activate the application license. For more information, see Activating the Application License.
    Important:
  • Discard all printed color charts generated with any previous version of the application. If you have the corresponding chart PDFs saved to your DFE, make sure to remove those as well.
  • You can find the color profiling charts and the color verification charts only in the web application.
  • Make sure you print new color profiling and color verification charts generated with the current version of the application. If the hot folder feature is enabled on your DFE, you can print the profiling and verification charts directly from the web application. For details, see RICOH Auto Color Adjuster: User Guide. Alternatively, you can download the profiling and verification charts from the web application and print them using your print application.
  • Make sure you print new colorimetry charts generated with the current version of the application. To find the predefined and custom colorimetry charts, go to C:\RicohAutoColorAdjuster\ColorimetryCharts.
