Front and Left View

Describes the basic components on the front and left side of the scanner.

Front and Left View of the Scanner

1. Output tray
The scanned document or color chart is ejected onto this tray.

If the ejected sheets are curled or not stacked neatly, attach the auxiliary tray that is provided with the scanner. For more information, see Frequent Paper Jams.

    Note:
  • Do not apply an excessive force to the output tray. Doing so might damage the scanner.

2. Power switch
Push to turn on or off the power of the scanner. For more information, see Turning On the Scanner and Turning Off the Scanner.
3. Indicator
Indicates the scanner status.
  • Blue (left): The scanner is operating normally. The scanner is ready to scan originals and color charts.
  • Red (right): A paper jam or other error occurred. Check the message that is displayed on the computer, and then resolve the cause of the error. For more information, see Desktop Application Errors.
