Front and Right View

Describes the basic components on the front and right side of the scanner.

Front and Right View of the Scanner

1. Front door

Open the front door if you need to remove jammed paper. For more information, see Paper Jams.

2. Paper tray

Open the tray if you want to place an original or color chart that you want to scan. For more information, see Placing an Original or Color Chart in the Paper Tray.

3. Paper guides

After you place an original or color chart in the paper tray, slide the paper guides until they are aligned with the edges of the paper.

4. Extension tray

If you place an original or color chart that is longer than 210 mm (8.3 inches) in the paper tray, extend the extension tray.

Note:

Do not apply an excessive force to the front door, source tray, paper guides, or extension tray. Doing so might damage the scanner.
