Problems caused by antivirus software

Programs that scan and lock files, such as antivirus products, often cause installation and performance problems.
In some situations, antivirus software has caused RICOH ProcessDirector to:
  • Fail to install.
  • Fail when running a step.
  • Experience degraded performance.
  • Block network traffic on some ports.

You may need to exclude some directories from scanning in order to avoid these consequences.

If you are using the DB2 provided with RICOH ProcessDirector, suggested directories include:
  • /aiw/aiw1/db2
  • /aiw/aiw1/db2_logs
  • /home/aiwinst/sqllib
  • /opt/infoprint/ippd/db
