If a Message Appears

This section explains essential messages. If you encounter a message that is not explained in this section, follow the instructions in the message. If the problem persists, check the message and message code, and then contact your service representative.
Note: In the tables below, the code displayed after the text of the message is a unique identifier for the message. The codes displayed in the Message code column identify the specific context of the error and possible solutions.

Creating and opening jobs

A new folder could not be created.

Check the following, and then specify a folder that is valid:

  • Do you have sufficient privileges to access the specified folder?

  • Did you specify a read-only folder? (For example, a folder on a CD)

PDF conversion by the TotalFlow PDF driver failed.

 
  1. See Supported File Formats, and make sure that this application supports the file format.

  2. If the TotalFlow PDF driver settings have been changed, reinstall the TotalFlow PDF driver. For details, see the Setup Guide.

  3. If the problem could not be resolved in Step 1 or Step 2, the file might be corrupt. Check whether the file can be opened in the application that was used to create it.

Scanning has been canceled. (107003)

 

If scanning was not canceled and this message appears, repeat the scanning.

Cannot scan. Verify the scanner connection and driver settings.

 
  • Make sure that TotalFlow Prep supports the scanner driver.

    For information on the supported drivers, see the Printer Connector Readme file.

  • Make sure that the scanner driver is configured correctly.

    For information on the driver installation and configuration procedure, see the documentation for your drivers.

  • Make sure that the scanner is connected to the network and ready to use.

Job information unavailable. (101007)

Thumbnails are unavailable. (104001)

 

There might have been insufficient memory to process the document. If memory was insufficient, exit other applications.

The password is incorrect. Try again. (101006)

 

Make sure that you specify the correct password for the file.

Cannot start TotalFlow Prep because another TotalFlow Prep instance is already running.

 

Restart TotalFlow Prep to fix the problem.

  • Make sure that the connection settings you specified when you added the printer are correct.

  • Click Printer Management on the Settings menu to view connection details and status information for registered printers. Click Edit button, the Edit button, next to a printer to view or edit its settings.

  • Make sure that the printer model is supported. See the Printer Connector Readme for more information.

The connection to the server on which TotalFlow Production Manager is installed might have failed.

Check the following:

  • Is the server turned on?

  • Is the server connected to the network?

  • Did TotalFlow Production Manager start correctly? If not, try restarting the server.

  • Can you print from TotalFlow Production Manager?

An HTTP error might occur because the system load increases temporarily when TotalFlow Prep sends jobs to TotalFlow Production Manager. Wait for the system load to decrease and try sending the jobs again.

  • Does an appropriate workflow exist in TotalFlow Production Manager?

  • Is the workflow associated with a physical printer?

  • Can you print from the physical printer that is associated with TotalFlow Production Manager?

Reopen the browser user interface and make sure that it is working properly.

The connection to TotalFlow Production Manager or TotalFlow Print Server might have failed.

  • Make sure that TotalFlow Production Manager or TotalFlow Print Server is configured correctly.

  • Check the internet connection.

  • Make sure that all the required services are running.

Saving jobs
