UI server

The UI server hosts the RICOH ProcessDirector user interface and routes requests to whichever primary server is currently active.
  1. Verify that the UI server meets the minimum hardware requirements.

Minimum hardware requirements for the UI server

    Resource Requirement
Processor x86 computer capable of running a supported 64-bit Linux operating system
CPU cores Minimum 4 physical CPU cores
RAM Minimum 8 GB available RAM
    Hard-drive space 200 GB free
Network Reliable, low-latency connection to the file server (NFS) and the database server
  2. Verify that the UI server is accessible from workstations in your network where users access the RICOH ProcessDirector user interface.

Plan for sufficient network bandwidth to support concurrent user sessions.

  3. Verify that the UI server has the following network connectivity:
    • SSH connectivity to both primary servers (for failover routing)
    • NFS access to the file server (read-only access to configuration and log data)
  4. If you run the UI server on a virtual machine (VM), define the VM guest so that the number of dedicated CPUs meets or exceeds the minimum requirements.

Do not overcommit physical CPU resources on the virtual host.
