Configuring the database server

The database server stores RICOH ProcessDirector system data. All database requests originate from the active primary server.
  1. If you use PostgreSQL:
    1. Check and update the proxy server in the /etc/dnf/dnf.conf file.
    2. Download and install PostgreSQL. See Configuring your own PostgreSQL database.
  2. If you use DB2, see Installing and configuring your own copy of DB2 on a different computer.

  1. Installing PostgreSQL
    For RICOH ProcessDirector running in a multiple servers environment, you must install your own copy of PostgreSQL. Install the PostgreSQL database on the database server.
  2. Installing DB2
    In a multiple primary servers environment, DB2 must be installed on a dedicated database server. You cannot install the database locally on a primary server. Install DB2 11.5.8 or later on the database server. Earlier versions of DB2 are not supported with RICOH ProcessDirector in a multiple primary servers environment.
