Starting and stopping a multiple primary system
You can start and stop RICOH ProcessDirector servers.

- Starting the entire multiple primary servers environmentAfter you install all servers and configure the shared directory permissions, you must start each server in the correct sequence.
- Stopping the entire multiple primary servers environmentUse this procedure to stop all servers for planned maintenance, such as a scheduled power outage.
- Stopping and starting one primary serverUse this procedure to take one primary server offline for maintenance while the other primary server continues processing.
- Starting an application serverTo run processing steps on an application server, the application server must be running. If the application server is not configured as a service, you must start the application server manually.
- Stopping an application serverYou can stop an application server through the Windows Start menu. Stopping the server prevents RICOH ProcessDirector from accessing any external programs on the Windows system.
