When to Use the PRESENT and DIRECTION Subcommands

You should use the PRESENT and DIRECTION subcommands if you are building a form definition that will be used:

With wide forms on an continuous forms printer when the print data has been formatted in the DOWN print direction (see The DOWN Direction for Continuous Forms Printers)
When you do not know which type of form (narrow or wide) will be used on an continuous forms printer (see The DOWN Direction for Continuous Forms Printers)

Note: References to an continuous forms printer point of origin also applies to all continuous-forms printers except the 3800.
