Setting up the InfoPrint AFP Driver on a Windows system
To set up the InfoPrint AFP Driver on a Windows system, follow these steps:
- Click the WindowsStart button and select .
- In the Printers & scanners window, click Add device next to
Add a printer or scanner
. - Wait for Windows to search, then click Add a new device manually next to
The printer that I want isn't listed
. - In the Add Printer dialog, select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings and click Next.
- In the Choose a printer port dialog, select Use an existing port, and choose FILE: (Print to File) from the list, and click Next.
- In the next dialog, click Have disk without selecting a printer or a manufacturer.
- In the Install from disk dialog, type the path to the directory that you copied the AFP driver files into
(for example,
C:\afpdriver) and click OK. - Select the printer that you plan to use this driver with from the list and click Next.
- In the Type a printer name dialog, accept the name of the printer and do not set it to be your default printer. Click Next.
- In the Printer sharing dialog, select Do not share this printer and click Next.
- When prompted, do not print a test page and click Finish.
