Usage Guidelines
- If the content of body and signature files is plain text (ASCII), the character encoding for email body is US-ASCII.
- If the content of body and signature files is not plain text (ASCII) and the attribute is not set, the character encoding is assumed ISO-8859-1 for AIX and Windows and UTF-8 for Linux. If the attribute is set, the content of body and signature files is assumed to have the specified character encoding.
- Not all character encodings can be used. Encodings such as: UTF-16, UCS-2, UTF-32, UCS-4, etc. or other character encodings that have a 00 (hex) in the binary representation for a character are not supported.
