snmp-timeout
The snmp-retry-count and snmp-timeout attributes are used when an SNMP request sent to a particular printer fails. The SNMP request can fail, for example, if there is a network problem. See the snmp-normal-poll-interval and snmp-problem-poll-interval server attributes for more information about the periodic polling of normal and problem SNMP printers.
Because the server performs periodic polling of all SNMP printers, the snmp-retry-count and snmp-timeout attributes should be left as the default (small) values. A large number of retries over an extended timeout period are not necessary because the SNMP printer will be contacted again when the next periodic polling of all SNMP printers happens. Large snmp-retry-count and snmp-timeout attributes values can unnecessarily increase the amount of time required to complete the polling of all the SNMP printers

Timeout (sec)
DSS
AIX, BSD, CUPS, DFE, PSF, IPP, Passthrough
Type
Resettable, single-valued
Allowed Values
You can enter an integer. If an SNMP request cannot be resolved using a couple of retries, it cannot be resolved. Therefore, it does not accomplish anything to set this at a higher number.
Default Value
5
Usage Guidelines
- Do not change the snmp-timeout attribute unless instructed to do so by Ricoh Support.
- Set a value of 0 to use the SNMP default timeout period.
- If the value of the use-snmp attribute is false, this attribute is ignored.
