Installing and configuring the InfoPrint AFP Driver

The InfoPrint AFP Driver software lets you produce Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) output from desktop applications so you can use the powerful features of AFP in a wider range of environments. Used with InfoPrint Select or a Windows gateway printer, the AFP Driver provides a high degree of control over the appearance of your printed documents. This section contains procedures for unpacking and installing the InfoPrint AFP Driver on a Windows system.

English versions of the InfoPrint AFP Driver for all Windows platforms are provided on the RICOH InfoPrint Manager: Common Clients DVD-ROM, LCD4-5642. You can also download the English and other language versions of the InfoPrint AFP Driver free of charge from the Ricoh Global Production Print Software website by following these steps:

  1. Go to Ricoh Global Production Print Software - No Charge Request.
  2. Fill out the request form. For Program, select RICOH AFP Workbench and Printer Driver NC.
  3. Agree to accept the terms of use and privacy policy and submit the form. You will receive an email shortly with a reply to your request.
  4. In the request approval email, click View downloads.
  5. On the Welcome page, click Submit.
  6. On the No Charge ID Downloads page, click AFP Printer Driver for Windows V3.3.1.0.
  7. In the Terms and Conditions dialog, click Agree to save the installation file to your computer.
    Note:
  • Translated drivers might not be identical to the English version because they are updated on a different schedule.

Use the procedures below to install the InfoPrint AFP Driver on your Windows system.

    Note:
  • If you plan to use this driver to submit print jobs using InfoPrint Select, install the driver on the same system that InfoPrint Select is installed on. If you plan to use this driver to submit print jobs using a Windows gateway printer, install the driver on the system that your InfoPrint Manager server is installed on.
