Original Data Supported in Color Sample Matching

Usable Original Data

Color Sample Matching supports original data that matches the following conditions:

  • Data in a format that is supported on the printer used to print the original data
  • CMYK
      Note:

  • PDF files of any of the following versions:
    • PDF1.3 (Acrobat 4.x) to PDF1.6 (Acrobat 7.x)
    • PDF1.7, Adobe Extension Level 3 (Acrobat 9.x)
    • PDF1.7, Adobe Extension Level 8 (Acrobat X)
    • PDF/X-1a
    • PDF/X-3
    • PDF/X-4
  • A PDF file with embedded fonts

Images Not Suitable for Color Sample Matching

Color Sample Matching cannot be performed on images of the following types even when the above-mentioned conditions are fulfilled:

  • An image that is entirely filled in a solid color and comprises no gradation or edge.Image filled in a solid color
  • An image comprising a design of line symmetry or rotation symmetry.Image comprising a design of line symmetry or rotation symmetry
  • When the same image is imposed repeatedly
  • Page comprises a lot of characters and line drawings
  • Page comprises an extreme color scheme, such as mainly containing colors of a specific color family
  • Page is covered entirely by a fine pattern
  • When the screen size is small
