Usage Guidelines
- The MID function provides the print sharing method of a device with non-IPDS data streams.
- When the MID function is enabled, the printer can request that the PSF host releases the control of the print engine without dropping the TCP/IP connection. In this situation, the print engine can print data streams other than IPDS when the IPDS activity is minimal.
- If you release the print mechanism, the IPDS host might stop processing subsequent print requests until the print mechanism control is returned. And the time when the control is returned depends on the device.
