Reuse of CMRs and data objects across printer jobs

Using CMRs and data objects in more than one print job can improve printer performance. InfoPrint Manager includes two actual destination attributes that you can use to specify reuse: maximum-presentation-object-containers-to-keep and capture-inline-cmr-resources.

If you use the same resources (such as company logos) in different print jobs, you can improve print performance by storing those resources on the printer.

Use the maximum-presentation-object-containers-to-keep actual destination attribute to specify the maximum number of CMRs and data objects to store in the memory of the printer device between jobs. The default value is 100 objects. Both CMRs and data objects are included in this count.

The printers control the actual retention of resources based on the value of the maximum-presentation-object-containers-to-keep actual destination attribute and the available resources downloaded to the printer.

Note: If the printer is reset, the printer memory is cleared.

If you include CMRs inline with your print jobs, you can use the capture-inline-cmr-resources actual destination attribute to indicate whether inline CMRs can be captured and reused by PSF TCP/IP printers. Capturing a CMR means the resource is downloaded to the printer and remains resident in the printer memory for future reuse. The default for this attribute is false (not active).
