Transforming color images

Color images are transformed automatically at the server when you submit the job to the printer. However, you can transform your images separately by running transforms from the Linuxcommand line without printing the generated output before submitting the job. Jobs run more quickly if the images have already been transformed.

InfoPrint Manager provides transform programs for most data streams, such as GIF, PS, and PDF. The transforms convert the incoming data stream into the AFP format. For example, to transform the file mypicture to AFP using the gif2afp transform, enter this command:

gif2afp mypicture

By default, these transform programs produce monochrome FS10 output. To produce finely-tuned color FS45 output, see the list of flags or options and values for each transform in "InfoPrint Object Attributes" in the RICOH InfoPrint Manager: Reference.

Note: For best results, transform TIFF, JPEG, and GIF images from the Linux command line.
