Tuning for GUI Performance
GUI performance is related to the performance of the entire InfoPrint Manager system. Some things that affect performance:
- The speed at which the server responds to queries. The GUI sends queries to the InfoPrint Manager server to gather the necessary information to display when the GUI is started. When the server responds to these requests faster, the performance of the GUI is faster.
- The network speed between the server and the client GUI. When there are a large number of objects on the server, a lot of information needs to be sent across the network when the GUI starts up.
- The speed of the client computer, that is, the chip or processor speed.
- The amount of memory on the client computer. The number of objects displayed in the GUI directly affects the amount of memory required on the client computer.
